Who We Are

Ribdung-Jaleswori Education Foundation (REF) is an independent, non-governmental and non-profitable organization (Registered No. 933 DAO/Kathmandu) set up with the objective of promoting and enhancing quality education in remote villages in Nepal. Established on 8 June 2015 with the primary focus of collecting and managing seed-funds for contributing to the improvement of school education in rural Nepal, REF aims to diversify its activities so as to improve rural education through holistic development. The seed-fund collection, started in 2012 and 2015 was particularly targeted for the quality education of “Shree Simle Secondary School” in Ribdung-Jaleswori of Khotang district.

REF is a learning oriented professional organization working in the areas of rural education through deliberative and collaborative efforts for holistic social development. REF also attempts to contribute in rural education by generating critical knowledge through research, analysis, and policy processes. REF operates under the guidance of an elected executive board and advisory committee of the honorary members.
